Jim touches on the passing of Michael Jackson and Billy Mays. How paramedic actions can play a part in main stream media.
Note - Sorry guys had some connection issues about 12 minutes in to this session. I still think I got it all out though. Bottom line - always stay alert and be professional before, during and after the call - you never know whose house you will respond to and what PIA with a camera is taking pictures and putting their own spin on it.

I shoot off my opinion on this one when it comes to getting your Paramedic training. Which is better? Going to a 2 year college degree program or to a 1 year trade type certification course? Both have their positives and negatives, but which is best for YOU? Take a listen below and leave me your thoughts.

Looking at all the comments in forums, blogs and ems news sites. There is a lot of effort being used to place blame. Look I wasn’t there, I can’t say who is right and wrong. I wasn’t driving either vehicle and I I don’t know what went on before or after the camera stop rolling. My issue with this whole thing is that it makes us as emergency professionals, look bad.
The public doesn’t care and won’t put nearly as much effort into right and wrong as we are. They just see a angry policeman who looks like he is grabbing a guy by the throat and an ambulance driver who seems to be resisting arrest. In the end we as EMS professionals lose.
It is a tough call, like I said I wasnt there and maybe I would have reacted the same way, or worse. Take a listen to more of my comments on this in the quick audio podcast below.
